The G&G CM16 Mod 0 utilizes G&G’s Combat Machine set up, which provides the AEG with the reliability, durability and lightweight of the Combat Machine series, while adding comfort and ergonomic of the Mod 0.
From the front, the G&G CM16 Mod 0 comes standard with a plastic orange bird cage flash hider. The outer barrel is about 12” long and a comfortable hand guard, which is also where the battery compartment is located. To access the battery compartment, simply pull down the D-ring and pop out the lower half of the hand guard. There are holes on the hand guard that allows the user to install small rail sections onto the AEG for mounting accessories such as vertical grip, flashlight, laser, etc. A small rail section on top of the gas block can be used to mount the front sight or any accessories. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and can also be flip down to be used as back up if another sighting system such as red dot sight or scope is being used.
The upper and lower receivers of the G&G CM16 Mod 0 are made of a strong type of polymer, which helps the AEG to be lightweight and durable. The charging handle can be pulled back to open up the dust cover, which will reveal the hop up unit. The motor grip is comfortable and has textures on both sides that prevent slipping while holding the AEG.
A right handed sling mount is located at the base of the buffer tube. The stock is adjustable to 6 positions and is also rubberized at the back to prevent slipping when shouldering the AEG. The adjustment lever on the stock can be locked in place to prevent any unwanted stock movement during game time. Under the adjustment lever is a compartment that can be used to store back up batteries for flashlight, laser or sight systems.
Internally the G&G CM16 Mod 0 is powered by a G&G standard torque motor. The gearbox is a version 2 full metal gearbox; all the components inside the gearbox can be replaced by a large variety of aftermarket parts at any time if the user wishes to do so. Based on the specs of the G&G CM16 Mod 0, it is recommended to use a 9.6V NiMH battery or a 7.4V Lipo battery to power the AEG for a reliable life span. Although 11.1V Lipo batteries can be used to achieve a higher rate of fire and a better trigger response, this will of course increase wear and tear of the AEG.
As far as hop up assembly and inner barrel goes, the G&G CM16 Mod 0 is installed with a 300mm aluminum inner barrel, standard G&G plastic hop up unit and green bucking. All the parts of the hop up assembly can be replaced or upgraded with many aftermarket parts to achieve better precision and accuracy.
The G&G CM16 Mod 0 comes with a combo package that includes the AEG itself, a 1600 Mah 9.6V NiMH battery, smart charger, 450 round hi-cap magazine, 3 small rail sections, manual and unjamming rod. The Feet per Second (FPS) of the Mod 0 averages around 390-400. Combining the ergonomic, lightweight, and reliable gearbox, the G&G CM16 Mod 0 is a great AEG package for beginners and intermediate airsofters who are looking an AEG to be competitive in the outdoor environment.
