There is no one airsoft gun or real steel gun to use for every conceivable thing and if there was one, there would not be so many guns the worlds military would use. - Physical Capabilities - First thing you have to consider is your physical capabilities as an airsoft player. Airsoft guns come in different weight, shape and form. Knowing your physical limit will mean a fun game or a agonizing "my gun is too heavy" game. While not to discriminate, a person not physically fit or not capable of carrying heavy stuff is better to carry a lighter weight weapon like a G36 or something similar.
- Where do You play - You also need to consider the area where you play. Is it outdoors/open field, CQB (Close Quarters Battle), or a mix of both. The engaging distance in open field games are usually far from 50ft or more and what you need is a airsoft gun that can shoot farther. You can settle with longer barreled AEGs since you have a lot of free space to move around. While playing CQB means that you have to move quick and a shorter barreled AEG will make a difference.
- Know Your Playing Style - Airsoft players play in different style and intensity. We have seen players that prefer to play at the front line charging the enemy head on. Their style is best for short to midrange AEGs. Others that prefer to support those front liners by laying heavy cover fire down range are best paired with longer range AEGs as they need the BBs to go over their buddy and reach their opponent.
