Airsoft Safety Fundamentals

Airsoft is a fun and safe sport but like any other sport important safety fundamentals and guidelines must be followed. An airsoft gun is not a toy gun and improper handling may cause serious injury. These airsoft safety fundamentals will keep you and your fellow airsoft players safe at the field and at home. Keep these basic safety fundamentals in mind and to make airsoft safe and fun for everyone.


Airsoft Safety Fundamentals:

  1. Treat all airsoft guns as if they were real guns. 
  2. Always keep your airsoft gun pointed at a safe direction. A safe direction means that it is pointed so that even it were to go off it would not cause injury or damage.
  3. Finger off the trigger at all times. The only time you put your finger on the trigger is when you are actually about to shoot.
  4. Always keep your airsoft gun unloaded, battery disconnected until ready to use.
  5. Always use safety eye protection or and airsoft mask when handling airsoft guns. It is advised to use ANSI 87.1 rated sealed sunglasses or airsoft/paintball approved goggles and masks.
  6. Never look down the barrel on any airsoft or real gun.
  7. Place selector switch on safe at all times.
  8. Never point any airsoft gun at people without proper protection or at animals.
  9. Always clear the chamber after removing the magazine. 
  10. Brandishing is illegal. Keep your airsoft gun in a gun bag when not in use and keep it out from public view.
  11. Obey the Law. Be aware of local Law and Regulations in your area. Obey your local Law enforcement officer.
  12. Be responsible and use common sense when playing and handling airsoft guns.
  13. Do not disassemble your airsoft gun. Without experience, you can damage it or possibly cause injury. Leave it to the professionals.
