How to - Lancer Tactical M4 Gen-2 Quick Change Spring
The Lancer Tactical second generation M4 series AEGs has a lot of improvements compared to its first generation M4s. The rotary hop up system, stronger polymer receiver, stronger metal gearbox, polycarbonate piston body with full metal teeth, precision 6.03 tight bore are one of the few improvements. The improved gearbox also features a quick spring change design where one can switch springs in less than 5 minutes.
Step 1. Remove butt plate
Step 2. Using a long Phillips scre driver, remove buffertube screw.
Step 3. Once the buffertube screw is removed, you can pull out the buffertube. Be careful not to pull or cut the wire.
using a 6mm hex tool, remove the spring guide by pushing it down and turn it a quarter turn to release
Step 4. line-up the spring with spring guide. (the coil that is closer together goes at the back end)
Step 5. Drop in the spring and spring guide inside the gearbox
Step 6. Carefully push the spring and spring guide into the gearbox using 6mm hex tool (Springguide ears at 12 and 6 o'clock position)
Step 7. Once in, turn spring guide a quarter tun to lock in place.
Step 8. Re-install buffer tube. The cut of the washer is for the wire to go through.
Step 9. Using long Phillips screw driver, screw buffertube back in place. Make sure buffetube screw is tight but not too tight so you don't strip the screw.
Step 10. Test gun.
