Description

The latest addition to the ever popular G&G Combat Machine AEG line is the all new CM16 SR series. This is a brand new model of affordable line of intermediate level AEG that G&G came up with this year, with a few new internal and external improvements, this is definitely an upgrade to the original battle tested G&G Combat Machine. The CM16 SR series comes in different lengths to accommodate different airsoft game scenarios.

Here is an overview of the G&G CM16 SRS with a 7" Keymod Rail System and 8" outer barrel..

Externally, this is one of the nicest looking Combat Machine G&G has ever come up with yet. From the front, the G&G CM16 SRS is equipped with an aggressive looking plastic orange flash suppressor that can accept an aftermarket mock silencer that will give the AEG a different look. Rail sections can be mounted onto the full metal keymod rail system at the 45, 90 and 180 degree angle. The front and rear iron sights are adjustable, these sights can also be flipped down to be used as back up or remove from the gun to provide more space for another type of sighting system such as red dot or long range scope.

The most defining feature of the G&G CM16 SRS is the upper and lower receivers; these are made of a new type of reinforced fiberglass polymer, which feels tougher than the material of the original Combat Machine polymer receiver. The upper receiver is cut out to be flush with the rail system, giving the gun a slick look. The receivers are also milled out nicely giving the AEG a more modern, and futuristic look compare to any standard M4 AEGs. The enhanced selector switch is larger than standard selector switch. The magazine release button and the charging handle are ambidextrous for left and right handed users. The motor grip has finger groves and textures that provide more comfort than ordinary motor grips. A sling mount is located on the base of the buffer tube.

The G&G CM16 SRS comes with the new GOS-V3 6 position crane stock which is also a battery compartment; this stock can house a large variety of nunchuck (butterfly) batteries. To access the battery compartment, simply press the button on top of the stock, and twist the butt pad. Toward the back of the stock is a QD sling mount slot, and a small back up battery compartment for flashlight or red dot sight is located right under this QD sling mount slot. The butt pad is thick and rubberized which feels very comfortable when shouldering the AEG.

Internally, the G&G CM16 SRS AEGs utilize the Version 2 gearbox with a few new parts. The V2 gearbox is compatible with a large variety of aftermarket upgrade and repair parts. All G&G CM16 SRS AEGs also comes with a micro switch and a programmable mosfet combo, which enhances the trigger response immensely compare to regular Combat Machines. The Mosfet unit is located inside the buffer tube; this mosfet can be programmed to change from full auto into 3-round burst fire mode.

Changing fire mode can be done on the go by simply switching the fire mode to semi, then hold the trigger for 10 seconds, and the full auto function will change to 3-round burst. To switch it back to full auto, simply repeat the steps above or unplug the battery for a few seconds to reset back to normal.

It is recommended to power this AEG using a 9.6V NiMH battery. It is also possible to use 11.1V Lipo battery for this AEG to achieve a higher rate of fire, faster trigger response and quicker burst on 3-round burst fire mode, although this will result in an increase of wear and tear.

The hop up, inner barrel assembly in the G&G CM16 SRS consists of a 205mm aluminum inner barrel, G&G standard plastic hop up unit, and G&G green bucking. All these parts can be replaced with compatible aftermarket upgrade parts.

The G&G CM16 SRS shoots at an average of 330-350FPS with .20g BBs. With this FPS and barrel length the G&G CM16 SRS is an ideal AEG for CQB or Close Quarters scenarios that requires room clearing and fast movement. This G&G CM16 SRS comes with the airsoft gun itself and a 300 rounds magazine, battery and charger sold separate.

The G&G Combat Machine has been battle tested in the airsoft community and is known for being one of the most reliable entry level AEG on the market, with all the features that the original Combat Machine has combine with the new features and competitive price, the G&G CM16 SRS is surely going to be one of the nicest intermediate level AEG on the market.

    Very consistent

I own this gun for around 6 months now and I am surprised on how accurate and consistent it is. I like the fact that I can program it to three round burst and the to rail can be mounted optics.

supplement to awesome specs, mine does not always deliver

I was getting the rifle ready for the 3rd year anniversary at Buffalo Battle Ground. The night before the big show. I had it running well on a 9.6V and even better on the 11.1 LiPo. Went to do a final check on all systems...plugged in a battery and the fuse snapped. Tried a different pack and blew another fuse. I talked to John from G&G at the event....something is seriously flawed with the ETU. With the safety set to safe, no pressure on the trigger, there is a complete circuit at the battery connector. Come on G&G...your better than this. I still like everything else about my SRS, just have to rewire it now....docB

awesome specs, mine does not always deliver

The rifle looks great, shoots straight, just one issue that doesn't fit the rest of the experience. I am playing CQB indoors. Semi-auto only. If I shoot this way pro-longed, the gun just stops shooting. It is not jamming. I am not out of ammo. Pull the trigger and I get nuthing. Most of the time disconnecting the battery and reconnecting clears the issue. Either the electronic trigger unit or the board in the buffer tube is causing this issue. Maybe both add up to this. I have added Dean's connectors. Run a 9.6 volt NiMH. As long as I don't sustain the supression fire, it is a great gun. 3 rd burst is cool. I have also added venting to the motor plate at the bottom of the hand grip. If this persists, I will rewire my self. I like my G&G rifles. But I have also seen an SRXL fail to shoot. Maybe the ETU and factory MOSFET need some more work....
